I know, if you see a title like this, you know the feeling. That one song that takes you back to a certain moment where you felt like life was at its best, right? I still haven’t recorded or even written a song like that, but that feeling pushes me to keep going no matter how long I’ve been working at it, or how high or low the view count on a social media post is. Even if the music catalog you end up having the chance to record has less than the amount of streams than you thought it would, it’s still a body of work that you stand behind because it comes fully from you and your pure intention of creating because you really do love to do it. Even now, as I type this journal entry, I am typing everything that I think, feel, and believe in when it comes to music, life, and anyone and everyone having the chance to actually leave behind something that leaves an impact on the world doing what they love to do. And, I know, something like that happens by chance, not choice, but effort makes anything possible! Folks who put themselves out there at all can do anything they put their mind to, and I’ll believe that ‘till the day I die!

Not only is there someone else who has the name Nathan Wayne, but he was featured on the Kelly Clarkson show! So, to truly stand out, I have to try calling this website and all my socials something else to really have my music and myself stand out from the crowd of others going the whole nine yards to promote their work. I first fell in love with music and performance with dreaming of being a professional DJ in middle school, over fourteen years ago now. So, I did watch a video on this subject once, and the guy in it said that if you’re starting late, you don’t have to get this all figured out in the next year or two, and that there are audiences out there for more than just the mainstream, Billboard-charting young and cool people. Maybe so, because the sounds coming in from my favorite dance and country playlists on Spotify right now really do have a bunch of passion and heart throughout every beat, every lyric, every note. And that is one of, if not THE best reason to continue to feel inspired to keep pushing on.

Here is another step in a music journey that’s been a long time comin’. Over the years I’ve learned about artists’ journey (like the one I just referenced, Richard Goodall), but I never really figured out mine until I was twenty-five first landing a job. Apart from studying and completing classes in school, I have been checking out what’s happening in the worlds of both country and dance music culture every week (both middle and high school), on top of doing my own original songs and covers and album reviews on all my social media platforms at twenty. I don’t plan on slowing down either of those things, but I’m twenty-seven next February, so, if this is what I REALLY want to happen, I really have to put in the work as someone who’s fully independent, and doesn’t care if the songs are mainstream or not. (And in the case of Nic D, another guy whose hard grind I respect, sadly, no, but, happily, he’s having the music career he deserves, as someone who has built up an entire back catalog of good music, great marketing on socials, and the purest of intentions every step of the way.) This website is going to be filled with studio recordings of both covers and original songs, as well as articles on what’s going on with the country music scene at large. It’s a big step in becoming more of a professional in terms of actually making my career as a musician happen. I really hope you can check me out, see if there’s anything I can do to improve the content that I upload here or on my socials. Much love, Nathan Wayne.
